Penang Hay Noodle
Due to our overwhelming craving for authentic Prawn Noodle, we invited a chef all the way from Penang! She made us this "faba-licious" dish, with the help of her son. They made the best (seriously!) pork ribs for this dish. Usually I skip the pork rib for this soup noodle but the ones they had in theirs were so sweet & tender I downed all *slurp*!

Actually he is Eythan's ex-classmate & his mom! Hee hee.... *burp*

Poi workshop by Bornfire 16-17Aug08
Been wanting to do Poi (fire juggling) for years! Finally, got an opportunity to try it out for the 1st time as we have guest performers here for the Bornfire Festival 2008. Never know that Eythan can be so sweet to accompany me there for the 2 days x 90mins workshop (with his Straits Times papers).
Had fun learning what we can do with such simple gear. Probably in few years time, I will be ready to dance with real fire!! Hee...

One of the biggest challenge is to spin both poi in opposite directions! Backward spin/swing, forward spin/swing etc... Many times, I thought I got it, until the ball hit my head again... Sigh!
My photographer took this shot of us learning the steps, from above the Fort Gate.
Our instructor, Thomas Johansson from www.nevisoul.com.

Olympics moments!
Nothing can keep Eythan away from home lately, not when there is Olympic games in the line.
For the first time in my life, I see him cry when watching TV! He never cries when we watch true sad stories or those weepy sad movies. Well, it is THAT glorious moment during the Olympic when an outstanding Olympian stood on the platform to receive the Gold medal (+ the music in the background).

The first time I thought he was just tired... It happened again this morning when Steffen (GER) & 41 yrs old Torres (USA) competed for the 50m women's swim and came soooo close - by 0.01 sec! As usual in my blogging sense, I quickly took out the camera & took a snap. Gotcha! Hee... His tears of joy!

Trip to the Doc.
Eythan was diagnosed with "non-aggressive" Hepatitis B Virus and I was lucky to be found not infected - yet!
So immediately (under doctor's advice), I took vaccinations for both Hep A+B. And in the meantime, just to make sure that I am 100% clear, we are advised to hold our baby plan for another month. :p

090808 - Singapore National Day

After our run at East Coast Park, we joined Eythan's family at Paramount Restaurant for dim sum lunch.
Meaningful day for us as this day is our nation's birthday & EVERYONE of us was wearing this red Ferrari tee Eythan's sister got for us all! Even my mother in law & the maids.
Good thing the tees come in different sizes from baby size that Trevor boy was wearing, to kids size (which I wore) to adult sizes.
Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!

Movies
Review: I think it is not bad, the effects, as usual, are quite entertaining... But Christian Bale as Badman?? Oh man... I'm sure there are better options.

Only caught the part I from tv, before the movie was out & I am glad I didn't miss this show again. Very entertaining! U can love & hate Hellboy. Ha...
The Mummy 3 - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
The visuals are definitely very "mummy" effect & I love it as much as the part 1. However, the storyline sucks!!
Some parts are so hilarious & silly it was stupid to watch.

Standard Chartered marathon 2008
The 1st time we signed up, it clashed with our Korea trip in 2006. Now we finally going for it again! Eythan is doing 21km, I better start low with 10km. :p
We got a surprise when we browsed the homepage to this Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. In the website, you can see the following young, sporty couple at the top bar and some other pages...
Let me introduce to you - Fong & her hubby Sean!! Haha... They're both Eythan's close frds (who also attended our ROM ceremony). Apparently, this shot was taken in 2005, before Fong got pregnant.
