Our Special Guests

Our ROM day (evening)

(cont'd)
4:30pm - Time for some wedding shots!

5:30pm - Final preparation

6:00pm - Arrival of guests

6:10pm - Arrival of Solemiser Mr Koh Kok Weng & his Messers

6:30pm - CEREMONY BEGINS...

The Characters
- The Solemniser, Mr Koh
- The Bride (that's moi...)
- The Groom (Ah Beng)
- Father of the Bride cum Matrimonial Witness, Mr Tony.
- 2nd Matrimonal witness, Ms Grace.
- 60 Guests and a dozen of children!

The Scene
- A place in Singapore where the grass is always green, the flowers always in bloom and the sun always shining, on a hilltop... (use your imagination la!...)

The Time
A damn lucky sunny day in the wet wet December 2007! The perfect wedding season huh...

(Before you scroll down from here... Please make sure you have the song playing! ;)   If not, click on the song at the right top corner of my blog page). Haha...

As the Father of the Bride led her down the aisle, all the guests welcomed them with bubbles and loud applause, complete with their heartfelt wishes... *Diana Ross was singing in the background*

The Bride's father passed the bride's hand to the waiting groom and conveyed his best wishes to the couple. The Bride then kissed her father before she moved forward with the Groom.

Before the Solemniser and all the witnesses, the Bride & Groom exchanged their matrimonial vows & expensive wedding rings :p.  The crowd cheered on as the couple ended with locked lips... oohh...

Well, it is never complete without the couple signing on the dotted lines... SO, they sealed their lives together for eternity with that... MARKER PEN THAT RAN OUT OF INK! Hahaha...

7:30pm - Flower tossing!
As part of the tradition, the Bride has to throw the bouquet to a crowd of singles. Well, initially we had a group of all our shhhhy single female friends and relatives...
Look what happened to my flower!!! Women... aiyo!

2nd try... We included our single males. See who got it! Ha...

Eythan's brother Gavin! Time for wedding bells soon!...

7:45pm - Time to dig in

Our ROM day (afternoon)

(cont'd)

Time seems to pass too fast! We didn't get to see how was the food layout... I'd forgotten to coil the 9m Ivy leaves I specially ordered around the line of my hand-made trinklets (behind the aisle)...

3pm - preparing setup at Telok Blangah Hill - Terrace Garden

There were so many details to decide and look into…

1) THE VENUE
~
1st choice – The Ship Deck @ Mount Faber (overlooking Sentosa). This is a very meaningful place because this was where we had our 1st date in Yr 2000. Last minute informed by Nparks that that day, half of this place will be opened to diners of the seafood restaurant there!

~ 2nd choice – Changi Cottage. Another private bungalow with own garden & facing the sea! Idea scrapped as a result of PA’s regulation… No private event for month of Dec… cos it’s school holiday!!

~ 3rd choice – Telok Blangah Hill Park (Terrace Garden).  √

2) GAZEBO / TENTAGES
~ Setups to accommodate 60 guests as well as mobile toilet (the nearest toilet is like miles away);

3) FLOWERS
Florist = La Brise Pte Ltd
www.labrise.com
~ For my floral arches, hand bouquet, chair posies & site decor etc;

4) FOOD
Caterer = Mum's Kitchen
www.mumskitchen.com.sg
Not only must the food looks good, they gotto taste great too! Thank God they turned out soooo *slurp*.

Oh... I must say we are extremely pleased with their service too!

5) Sound system, songs for the day & nite;
~ March-in song = If we hold on together by Diana Ross

6) Balloons for décor & Cupcakes
~ Cupcakes fully sponsored by my sisters.

7) Things for my guests to do
~ like polariod taking cum well-wishing & soap bubbles for children (and some adults!).

7) THE BEST PART!!

Our ROM day (morning)

It is finally over!! My months of planning & coordination works finally paid off... Feeling a little disappointed that I couldn't spend more time enjoying the process that actual day.

Here we go for the BIG day!...

10am - Hair @ Sam's saloon
Sam... a professional hairstylist who owns a saloon at York Hotel. Eythan has been using his scissors for very long time & Sam is so sweet to volunteer to do my hair for free!
By the time I reached his saloon, he was already halfway through with another's hair colour. Busy = making big bucks! hee...

Couldn't make up my mind what to do with my hair until I found that crystal hair band at that final closing minute while frantically shopping with my buddies for their dresses! Heng boy...

11am - This is what happened when you watched too much Miami Ink! Hahaha...

I'm so glad Eythan was spontaneous about the idea!

Weeks before we started getting in touch with few tattooists at Far East Plaza. Finally found Malvin, friend of my sister, from Primitive Tattoo #04-101.

After 2 meetings, we finally decided on the designs he had for us & size of what we want. 2 different designs for Him & Her but in the middle, there is our "ES" logo. The same one we had for our wax seal.

The collage has some of the exciting shots there. The painful look on my face is genuine! Held on to his pants throughout the whole 15-20mins. Almost couldn't breathe. Really *phew* when it was finally over!

For those with tattoos will know, the grilling pain came at the 1st second til that last moment... Like a razor slicing through your skin (exaggerate abit. Ha!)...

T3 contest results

The results are finally out! Check out http://www.changiairport.com/t3/wedding/
We are Couple No. 31!

As expected, we didn't win... :(  BUT good to know that we didn't look the worst!! haha... And I thought we are the only one with wings!

I know what is wrong with this picture...  We both looked so distanced, so serious, uninterested & seemed oblivious to each other!! This shot was in fact one of the final shots. Tired and ran out of ideas... Hahaha...

Anyhow, the winner's photo is really very picturesque! Really romantic... Hmmm...

Couple No. 5 is very nice too! At least the background does not outshine the couple (wedding photo must at least be able to see the couple's faces la!)...

Actually I like Couple No. 16's angle of shot, problem could be it seemed too plain & not very in line with the "Garden theme".

I love the idea of having pictures telling storys! Another photographer of mine, Lee Khian, thought of a shot where I was sitting on the chair waiting for Eythan while he walked past, on the traveller behind me. Hmm... like the movie Turn Left, Turn Right (By Gigi Leung & TAKESHI Kaneshiro!)
http://www.lovehkfilm.com/reviews/turn_left_turn_right.htm

Last but not least, we all had loads of fun that day & that's most impt.  Picture this on the airport... Some couples lied on the ground or conveyor belts, some can "fly" in the air and I was walking around the terminal barefooted! Haha... Very chor lor & "unbridely".

Will try post more photos once I get 'em!

Changi Airport T3 Photography Contest

Happened to see this advertisement on Straits Times one day, showed it to E & he thought "Yeah! Why not?? Let's go have fun!!"... (AND of course we were also eyeing on the bonus for first prize of a whopping Paris trip on biz class + hotel stay + $5000 cash!! :p $$ *ker-chng!* $$).

This Photography Contest is actually for the launch of our new Changi Airport Terminal 3 on 14 December 2007. Frankly, we have zero idea where the hell is this new airport, until that day!

With just 2 weeks from the shooting date, we need to strategize our budgeted plan! At the same time, I was so stressed out from preparing for our ROM event. So worried getting my Zit Attack!

Step 1 = get sponsorship from Bridal Studio for gown + suit + make-up/hair  √ checked!
I made a call to the owner of 1 of the bridal shops @ Tanjong Pagar. The fact is, I pestered him everyday until he threw the white towel! Hahah... He is quite “steady”la… So in returned, we signed up with him for our actual day package.

Step 2 = look for Photographer √ checked!
An old friend, Wilson Pang, is gladly to do this for us, out of goodwill. So sweet… Never seen him for years & thought of him when needed help. :p Of course, my buddy Jessie, is marrying him soon too mah! Hahah…

Step 3 = Select gown + suit  √ checked!
That E has put on so much weight that none… yes, NONE of the pants in the studio shop fitted him nicely! Haha…

Step 4 = Terminal 3, here we come!!
Lee Khian & Jessie also came to help on that day. We ended up 1 of the last teams to leave the place. Simply took our own sweet time *snap snap snap*. Well, we had 3 pro photographers that day!
It was such an experience to be able to walk around the newly launched transit mall barefooted!! Ha… that is cos my feet has only 5% tolerance for heels. Everytime Wilson sends the cue to snap, E&S immediately spring up into poses, stiffer than mannequins! Ha… Geeeez…

Here are some of the photos taken by our photographers:
Photobucket
I actually climbed >1.5m up via the conveyor belt behind the Check-In counter to get up there!

Photobucket
Watch that flabby arms! Haha...
Photobucket
Posers! ha...

Photobucket
I know I looked awkward with that rose...

Photobucket
Can u see him??

BEHIND THE SCENE...

Hey! I got up at 6am for my makeup + hair!

The most Natural Smile of the Day!! haha...

There! U can see how high the platform is!

Men @ work!! (took this opportunity to shoot all the crews behind their cameras with our HP)

All of us!
Out in the Straits Times on 26 December (before the release of results). Nope, our faces are not there. Haha!
